Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Gardens

The Rotary Club of Mill Creek will be laying wreaths at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Gardens on December 17 at 9:00 a.m. to coincide with the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery which begins at 12 noon. On that date, all across our nation, wreaths are placed on the graves of our fallen veterans. There are 5,000 Veteran’s Graves at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Gardens and the goal is to place as many wreaths as possible. The cost per wreath is $15. Please contribute below to remember our Fallen Veterans and honor those who have served. The Rotary Club of Mill Creek thanks you for your participation.

Bilingual and Foreign Language Books Needed

Research shows that children who read in their native language along with English make more reading progress than those who do not. The Rotary Club of Mill Creek’s Little Free Library project is in need of bilingual and foreign language books that our receiving communities are requesting. For that reason, Mill Creek Rotary has created an Amazon Wish List which you can use to browse and buy bilingual, foreign language, and very popular English books for the children we serve with our Little Free Libraries. When you buy books on this Amazon Wish List, they will be sent to the Rotary Club of Mill Creek for our Little Free Libraries at the Mill Creek Community Food Bank, our three participating mobile home parks, and Clothes for Kids.  These donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

A Passion for Service

The Fall edition of Mill Creek Living features a great article beginning on page 7 on club member Dr. Michael Mallahan.  Click here to download it and read all about his Passion for Service!!!

The Rotary Club of Mill Creek was established in 1986.  During that time, the Mill Creek club has established itself as one of the leaders within the greater Seattle area with its participations in over 65 separate international projects and with hundreds of local community projects.
In 1992 we coordinated a grant with MIND Prosthetic Lib Co. and received a grant for $220,000 to establish clinics in Thailand for prosthetics of land mine victims.  We raised funds that were matched and now over 4,000 needy people have wheelchairs.  We have sponsored Dentists, Doctors, Podiatrists, and Audiologists and delivered medical supplies, food, shelter, immunizations, educational material for the children and families of the world.
Even during the covid-19 pandemic we provided surgical masks for first responders, clothing for Mill Creek students in need and have provided over $140,000 in food and cash donations to the Mill Creek Community Food Bank.
